Technical Writer  

Moog

Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Technical Writer to join them. You will report to the Director, Customer Support and will have an onsite work schedule at our business unit, Genesys Aerosystems, located in Mineral Wells, TX. Genesys Aerosystems delivers customer-focused technologies and customized solutions for Special Mission, Military & Defense, Military Trainer, Business, and General Aviation industries.

 

To be considered for Technical Writer, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a writing-related or aviation/engineering
  • 2 or more years of experience with documentation, publications, or content management in an avionics’ environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with or understanding basics of avionics installation.
  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

As a Technical Writer, you will:

  • Write and edit technical documentation for use with company products to include installation manuals, service bulletins, service information letters, and other technical documents as necessary.
  • Implement applicable configuration management requirements.  Coordinate scheduling with program managers, engineering, and support departments.
  • Work with engineers, field service engineers and other technical personnel to collect, interpret, and clarify content of technical documents in conformance with publication standards, industry specifications, and organizational processes.
  • Manage the review and approval process for documentation to ensure that project schedules are completed on time.
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Microsoft Word.  Be proficient with version control tools and configuration management tools.  Strong aptitude for acquiring competency in new tools is essential.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.

Salary Range and Pay DisclaimerThe base pay range for this opportunity is $60,736 - $96,797 per year.

The base pay range represents the low and high end of the Moog pay range or indicates the hourly rate for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include a profit share bonus, employee stock purchase plan, a flexible paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.

This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
