Materials and Supply Chain Manager – East Aurora, New York

Moog Space and Defense Group in East Aurora is looking for a Materials and Supply Chain Manager to manage two key functions within our site’s Space Fluid Controls organization, Materials and Supply Chain (production planning and supply chain).  The incumbent’s focus shall be driving efficiency gains in the areas of materials planning, purchasing, manufacturing, and processes. This position will lead the Space Fluid Controls Business Unit's Materials and Supply Chain Department and will report to the Director of Operations.  

The Materials and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the overall management of the materials and supply chain organization within the site’s Space Fluid Controls organization to meet business unit, division, group, and corporate goals. 

 

This position will also be responsible for the interface of Space Fluid Controls to Moog cross-business unit and division materials and supply chain management organizations.  Establishment of clear processes, policies, and efforts to continuously improve performance are also key requirements of this opportunity.  The incumbent is expected to be a visionary for how materials and supply chain functions (production planning and supply chain) align with the overall strategy for the Space Fluid Controls Business Unit.

 We’re looking for…

  • A true leader, with proven capabilities in supervising and managing direct reports; including staff development and mentoring.
  • Proven experience in leading teams for process and cost improvements of the supply chain both within one’s company and with suppliers.
  • Supporting sales efforts by working directly with business development personnel regarding future business opportunities as well as delivery problems as required.
  • Prior experience acting as a supply manager within a sales and operations planning process.
  • Ability to establish clear procedures for the planning, purchasing, and manufacturing of products for all product lines within the business unit.  These include managing of forecasts, creation of purchase orders, execution of internal work orders, and maintenance of schedules.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain or Technical Degree – preferably at master’s level.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in the field of materials management and supply chain. Thorough knowledge of ERP / MRP based material control systems.
  • Proven strategic thinker who considers constraints in capacity, materials, facilities, and others when establishing group and product line supply chain direction.
  • Ability to balance the objectives of minimal inventory investment and optimal production flow.

The base pay range for this opportunity is $127,962. - $185,000. per year.  The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.
