Job Summary
Moog are looking to recruit a Heat Treatment Operator to join us at our brand new, state of the art facility based in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire. As a Heat Treatment Operator at Moog, you will provide special processing support by processing components to the technical requirements of NADCAP accreditation, within an agreed time.

You will operate traditional treatment, carburising, and nitriding furnaces to obtain required temperatures for production and heat-treating operations of both military and commercial components. To do this successfully, you’ll need experience of Heat Treatment operation techniques, and this may be from practical experience or through examination. 
If you have the competence, skills and knowledge to perform necessary heat treatment operations, NADCAP operation experience, hardness and tensile testing experience and are keen to work for a market leader this might be the role for you.
This role is working day shift - 37 hours per week; Monday to Thursday 7.30 am – 4.15 pm and Friday 7.30 am – 11.30 am.  However, you must be prepared to work multiple shift patterns to support the area and work overtime when the role requires it.
 
Key Responsibilities
Work in modern and clean heat treatment area, being involved in a range of tasks including supporting loading/unloading furnace loads using the correct tooling and fixturing that will be designed and improved by the technical lead  
Being responsible for health and safety requirements in heat treatments including - risk assessments, writing procedures, enforcing safe working practices and driving continuous improvements
Operating within a busy processing area maintaining high standards of quality necessary to meet customer demand
Proven history of lean principles that can be used with Moog continuous improvement initiatives
Quality – Adherence to all relevant heat treatment quality standards and have a working knowledge of them
Able to work on own initiative as the technical lead for the area responsibility of the smooth and safe running of the department
The ability to follow technical documentation including standard operating procedures, data-cards, process specifications, reports and data logging.
 
Key Expertise
Must have heat treatment operational experience
Experience of NADCAP operation
Hardness & tensile testing experience 
Proven history of carrying out quality checks
Proven history of standard operating procedures relevant to heat treatment
Maintain the high standard of cleanliness in the area
Have an understanding of batch control for traceability and audit purpose
Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Be self-motivated and self-disciplined
Demonstrated performance in Continuous Improvement
Hardness & tensile testing experience advantageous
 
The ideal candidate will have
Documented qualifications relevant to Heat treatment 
Strong communication skills
The ability to maintain quality as per the quality system requirements 
The awareness and adherence to safety procedures
The ability to use specialist equipment
Exposure to automotive or aerospace heat treatment advantageous
 
Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
