Our team in Space and Defense Group is looking for an Engineering Assistant to join them. This is a Part Time position, working up to 30 hours a week. You will report to the Production Coach and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg VA.
To be considered for Engineering Assistant, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
• Active enrollment or completion of Engineering or Physical Science degree program or related work experience. Preference for those enrolled in an Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Automation Technology, or related degree program.
• Strong ability to contribute to the overall effectiveness of a team, with a team-oriented attitude.
As an Engineering Assistant, you will:
• Perform specification analysis and comparisons to validate documentation and test configurations.
• Develop written procedures based on customer requirements and direction from engineering staff.
• Train alongside our Electronic Technicians to assist in basic testing operations.
• Perform electrical testing using automated test equipment.
• Complete paperwork required for each part, accurately & legibly.
• Ensure basic safety practices in day-to-day work.
• Implement and assist in training/cross-training of others.
• Active participant in Continuous Improvement Process.
• Perform other duties as assigned/needed for the role.

Salary Range:
• $15.50/hourly

Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance.
