As a Staff Program Manager, you’ll be responsible for the management of Commercial Aircraft programs. These programs are typically large, complex production programs; and potentially a need to lead minor to major design change implementations from time to time driven by cost reduction or robustness improvement needs.

 

At Moog, our Staff Program Managers are highly visible and coordinate all program activities from proposal to award through delivery and are the single point of contact for the customer regarding all aspects of the program.

 

As a Staff Program Manager supporting a Commercial Aircraft major OEM program, you will:

  • Coordinate all program activities from award through software and hardware delivery as the single point of contact for the customer regarding all aspects of the program.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements through coordination and management of all program activities
  • Achieve program/project objectives through effective application of program management principles within the confines of scope schedule and budget defined by the program/project sponsor
  • Sustain and expand the organizations book of business through the leadership and/or support of proposal teams and business capture campaigns
  • Ensure proper coordination between all program elements by developing program plans and schedules and to ensure compliance with program plans by monitoring the status of cost, schedule and task completion
  • Achieve timely resolution of outstanding issues through the conductance of effective day-to-day communications with the customer, Moog management, and Moog functional organizations
  • Optimize the program/project likelihood of success through the appropriate application of the following processes: Project Planning; Project Monitoring and Control; Organization Management; Change Management; and Risk Management

 Minimum Qualifications include…

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience
  • 6+ years of Program/Project Management work experience

Preferred Qualifications include…

  • Bachelor’s degree is in Engineering or Business
  • Program management experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry
  • Experience working in a fast pace, complex production environment with a strong focus on quality and financial performance
  • Knowledge of project management tools including Earned Value Management
  • Experience with flight actuation systems, control systems, or electronic systems
  • Experience managing multiple complex programs in various stages of the program life cycle while collaborating with and leading international teams; handling key issues across multiple time zones
  • Experience and proficiency with MS Project
  • Ability to lead, organize, and influence people through outstanding communication and facilitation skills
  • Project Management Professional certification is a plus
  • At Moog, a Staff Program Manager is the highest individual contributor level within Program Management.
